I, we, us, our: all refer to ASDG: Asayogure Software Design Group.
You, your, end user: all refer to you, the customer/client.
License: The term licensed is the industry term for the definition of whom the intellectual property rights of a program belong to, in other words, who can sell it. Most programmers will not develop a program for a customer, then sign the rights over to the customer. Most programmers will develop a program then license it to the customer. This allows the rights of the program to remain with the programmer, and prevents the customer from turning around and selling the program. These details can always be found in the "End User License Agreement," that accompany all programs of this nature. If the program in question will be of a high security or "proprietary," nature, then you can request an exclusive license, meaning the program will be licensed to no one else, or you can request that the program be written for ownership, and once delivered you will own the rights to that program. Keep in mind however that the price of your program will go up exponentially if you request either of those options.
Help File: A help file is a computer file included with a program, so when you click on a [help] button a window will pop-up (generally with both text and pictures, showing and explaining what to do.) Help files are also what you see when you click on the "help" menu of a program. They are usually listed by topic, and also indexed and searchable - depending on the size of the program.
Manual: For the purposes of the business of programming, a manual is a written document that contains text and pictures to show you how to operate a program. It does not necessarily have to be bound in any way, nor do they have to follow any particular format. Manuals are going the way of the Dodo as more and more people are getting more comfortable using help files included with a program to find their answers. Help files once you get used to them tend to be faster and easier to use since you can search them for keywords. Manuals are also going the way of the Dodo because they are generally large, heavy and expensive to ship, while a help file is included right along with the program on the installation disk. You will not find many programmers still putting out written manuals with their programs any more, however we will still provide them for your custom built program, but of course we will have to charge extra for shipping and time costs.
Freeware: The term freeware as used here and as it implies means free software. The End User is free from any obligation to the author of the software. The software is available to anyone that wants to use it without having to pay money to the author. I do reserve the copyright to the software though. I do that to make sure no one will change the software and distribute it prior to getting my approval. You are free to distribute this freeware to anyone you want, provided the distribution is an unmodified version of what you downloaded from this Web Site. In fact I encourage you to distribute my Freeware. Freeware is provided on an "as is" basis and no technical support is generally available. Of course if you find a bug or have a constructive criticism, let me know and I will (probably) respond. NOTE: Copyright does not equate to a user fee, but it gives the owner a legal right to charge one. Freeware authors don't exercise that right, or they exercise it selectively.
